Key Characteristics

Some of the key features and characteristics that we will be looking out for will be the additional tools, battery quality, washable filters and the ability to use a power boost when dealing with stubborn particles. In addition, our review looked at the ability to switch the floorhead from hard floors to carpet mode, motorised floor bristle heads and of course the dust capacity of the collection bins.

Best Cordless Vacuum Cleaners – Top 10 Recommendations

1, Dyson Outsize Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Our first recommendation would have to be the Dyson Outsize Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner which ticks all the boxes for the easiest cleaning experience and giving superb cleaning results. There is the Laser light in the cleaning head so you can see dust and dirt that you wouldn’t normally see and this is goes a long way to helping you get spotless results throughout your home. It also has a larger bin than expected which mean less emptying hassle and the cleaner head is 32cm wide which offers a wider sweep than many other cordless vacuums.

One key advantage here is the fact that it can adapt to various floor types, so the suction is adjusted as well as the power level applied plus there are 2 batteries in the pack offering up to 120 minutes of work time before you have to recharge them once again. These batteries consist of seven cell nickel cobalt aluminium batteries which would be considered on the higher spectrum when it comes to battery quality.

It can be used on hard floors, rugs, deep pile carpets, laminate flooring and also on the stairs. Power levels on the suction can be adapted by the vacuum load sensor and the filtration system for trapping in all the dust particles is certainly impressive. It takes about 4.5 hours to recharge the batteries, it can be detached and used as a handheld vacuum and it comes with the wall docking station as standard.

There are additional tools included in the pack such as the dusting brush and the crevice nozzle and it comes backed with a 2 year warranty for your protection. 2, Samsung Jet Bot+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner

If you prefer a robotic cordless vacuum, then the model we would definitely recommend would have to be the Samsung Jet Bot+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner which does all the hard work for you while you can sit back and relax – one less chore for you to look after! One nice feeling and surprise to have is when you come home from your hard day's work to find your home has already been vacuum cleaned!

It will automatically return to the charging base when it needs to be recharged, you can monitor it in real time using the SmartThings App and is uses the LiDAR sensor tracking to move from room to room and avoid the rooms that you don’t need cleaning. You also don’t need to worry about hair getting tangled as the brush extractors grind them down so it remains in top working condition for longer. It can be used on standard flooring as well as carpets, laminate flooring and even on rugs.

The dust collection capacity is quite small though at 0.3L but the dust station automatically removes it for you which means you only have to empty the dustbin station every 2 to 3 months. There is plenty of suction power in this robotic vacuum to collect crumbs, dust, dirt and hairs and this is brought about by the digital invertor motor in the design. Charging time is 4 hours on average, you can expect to 60 minutes to 90 minutes battery runtime, and it comes backed with a 2-year warranty for safe keeping

This brand is German so it is made in Germany and it is specifically great for people who are pet lovers which of course is supported by the 3 separate operational modes. The level of suction was a lot better than expected from the digital motor plus it can be stored in the wall cradle and charged when needed. 4, Shark Powerfins Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Our next recommendation is from a well established brand in the industry and it’s the Shark Powerfins Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner which performs exceptionally well in terms of cleaning, suction and power and it weighs only 4kg which reduces the chances of any arm fatigue setting in. There are plenty of models available in the Shark range but this one can provide 50% more suction than one of the lower spec vacuum cleaners namely the Shark IZ201UK model

As the name implies, you don’t have to worry about hair getting entangled as the anti-hair wrap system is able to remove it as it glides along. You get 2 batteries included in this pack so one can be charging while you are working the other battery at the same time which is always good to know – just don’t leave both batteries depleted. The key feature here of the Powerfins works on getting tough and deep with more difficult cleaning jobs so it makes the whole cleaning process that bit easier to do.

It can be used as a handheld vacuum cleaner which weighs just 1.4kg or a longer framed vacuum that weighs just 2.3kg. 1. Thanks for providing such a great review of the best cordless vacuums. I have pets and use two of the vacuums you have reviewed, the Dyson and the Samsung robotic vacuum. When I am at work, I have the Samsung vacuum to eliminate pet hair, and when I return, I use the Dyson because I have OCD and everything must be clean and not half done. They both are very good vacuums in my opinion.

    • Many thanks for sharing your opinions and taking the time to stop by and leave your feedback, it is greatly appreciated, take care, John

  2. Excellent product review and very helpful guide for me who is trying to decide which type of cordless vacuum cleaner to get. You have certainly did so much work in providing me the information that I need to make an informed decision. I have used the Hoover brand in the past which I really liked but now I’m seeking to upgrade to the Dyson – looks fab – my search is finally over, it looks class A

    • Yes, the Dyson really impressed us – you will not be disappointed in getting the best possible cleaning results. Best of luck to you and thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave your feedback…

  3. Hi, thanks for your post on the best cordless vacuum cleaners. I am a vacuum cleaner friend. I have more than one in my home. One upstairs, and two downstairs! Lol. I have used the Dyson and find the swivel head allows you plenty of flexibility in reaching all the corners. The run time is good and the charge time allows you to vacuum your home several times a week.
I have a cat, so a pet vacuum is what I need. It is surprising how quickly you can collect pet hair. I like the idea of the robotic vacuum that will empty itself. That is my least favorite part of vacuuming. I am going to have to further investigate the robot vacuum cleaner that empties itself. It would definitely be an asset in my home!

    • No problem, you are very welcome and thanks for your feedback after all the hard work was done! Best of luck and take care, Regards, John

  4. Gone were the days when you have to move your vacuum cleaners plug from room to room because the cord isn’t long enough, lol. I used to work part-time as a house cleaner and vacuuming is my least favourite task. I also had to change the cleaning heads for carpet, wooden, and tiled floors. Emptying the dust collection bin has to be done on a weekly basis too. It was really a hassle! I am so glad we now have cordless vacuum cleaners. They definitely make the work easier for us. Among your top 10 recommendations, my favourite is the Samsung Jet Bot+ Robot vacuum as I do not have to do the vacuuming myself! And it’s suitable for any kind of flooring in my opinion

  5. Hey thank you for taking your time to create this list for cordless vacuums as I have been totally undecided which brand to go with until now. I have used the Miele vacuum before a long time ago and it never let me down, Great power, great design and great customer service and warranty so my preference would be to go back to the Miele brand, thanks again for reminding me

  6. I have used the Shark Powerfins down through the years and to be honest I cannot fault it, it works are good as the first day I bought it. The Dyson is a dream but unfortunately I cannot afford it with the cost of living situation getting higher each month. I usually get between 100 and 120 minutes from the Shark Powerfins battery which is plenty enough and I would highly recommend it based on my experiences plus I have 2 pets to clean up after each week

  7. These are really good, I can agree on your top 10 and see why did you choose these. Quality, in-hand experience and price are on point, so, easily the real top ones. Very useful information you have provided here and thank you on that. Some have a higher price and some lower prices available to, but you get what you paid for!

  8. My preference here would have to be the Samsung Jet 60 Turbo vacuum and it comes with a fair price that I can afford. My previous cordless vacuum only gave me 20 minutes max but I can get a much longer worktime from the Samsung battery in this cleaner and converting it to a handheld vacuum for the stairs, sofas and beds was a lot easier than I expected. The user manual link was really helpful for me so many thanks for providing this information
    Cheers, Bernadette

    • Hi Bernadette, you are welcome and many thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave your feedback for the wider community, Regards, John

  9. I use the Gtech brand for other appliances and garden equipment and their cordless vacuum cleaner does not disappoint. It can easily go under beds and the sofas and the suction power really impressed me giving a spotless finish time and time again. I had lost the manual but thanks for providing a link so that I can have a soft copy and for my pets, this cordless vacuum did a perfect job in removing all the unwanted pet hairs so I would recommend the Gtech from this list
